UCD Confucius Institute's 2025 End-of-Term Traditional Culture Experience
As the 2025 academic term nears its conclusion, the UCD Confucius Institute hosted an evening of Delights and Dishes on December 10th at 7:30 p.m. Designed especially for evening-class and one-to-one students, the event offered a series of meticulously curated cultural workshops and interactive games. Students immersed themselves in these activities, experiencing the unique charm of Chinese culture in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere.
The evening commenced with students enthusiastically engaging in traditional games such as tea ceremony, shuttlecock kicking, and mahjong. These activities provided students the opportunity to physically experience the traditional skills of China, as well as the culture and wisdom they contain, enhancing their understanding and knowledge of Chinese traditional culture.

Before dinner, a game of picking up chocolate beans with chopsticks and an award ceremony added an extra layer of enjoyment and motivation to the event. The dinner segment featured a sumptuous feast comprising nine exquisite dishes, each a quintessential representation of Chinese culinary heritage. As students and teachers savored the delicious food, they shared the similarities and differences of various cultures, spending an evening filled with joy and satisfaction.
This event was hosted by the UCD Confucius Institute and jointly planned by Qihong Zhang, coordinator for evening courses, and Ningying Li, coordinator for one-to-one courses. The cultural workshops were led by An Ping, You Zhichao, and Xiao Lijun, and were made possible with the enthusiastic support of all teachers involved in the evening and one-to-one programmes, who contributed to the preparation, coordination, and successful delivery of the event. All participating students expressed great enjoyment and appreciation for the event, praising its engaging activities and warm atmosphere.

The UCD Confucius Institute remains committed to continuing to organize such enriching cultural experiences, allowing students to feel the charm of culture through practice and enhancing their understanding and love for Chinese culture. Through these activities, the Institute aspires to build a bridge for students worldwide to gain a deeper insight into and experience Chinese culture.
