Mid-Autumn Festival Celebrations at UCD Confucius Institute

On 17 September 2024, the UCD Confucius Institute for Ireland and the Irish Institute for Chinese Studies (IICS) co-hosted a welcome event and Mid-Autumn Festival celebration at the UCD Confucius Institute building. As the famous poem says, "The bright moon rises above the sea, and we all share this moment no matter where we are." In this spirit of reunion, everyone gathered to joyfully celebrate the festival together.

The event began with self-introductions from the newly arrived volunteer teachers, visiting teachers, and IICS staff, giving everyone a chance to get acquainted with the new members.

Professor Liming Wang, Director of the UCD Confucius Institute and the Irish Institute for Chinese Studies, delivered a welcome speech. Following him, Chinese Director Professor Jiangnan Xie and new volunteer teacher representative Mengyao Yin each gave speeches. Dr. Fei Yuan, the newly appointed lecturer at the Irish Institute for Chinese Studies, also shared his valuable teaching experiences and insights on teaching Chinese.

Following the speeches, participants engaged in lively conversations, further strengthening bonds while sharing the joy of the festival. "As the flowers bloom and the moon shines bright, families reunite." In the serene and festive atmosphere of this Mid-Autumn night, the sounds of laughter and happiness filled the air, and the warmth of the occasion lingered in everyone's hearts.
