Our Participants Achieve Remarkable Results in the "Chinese Bridge" for Irish Secondary School

On April 28, 2024, the 17th Irish Regional "Chinese Bridge" World Chinese Proficiency Competition for Secondary School Students, organized by the Chinese Embassy in Ireland and hosted by the Confucius Institute at University College Cork, concluded successfully at the Kingsley Hotel in Cork City. Nearly 50 contestants actively participated in the competition, which included three sections: knowledge Q&A, speeches, and talent showcases.

Seven students from the UCD Confucius Institute participated in the competition, and all performed exceptionally well. Amidst intense competition, three of our participants emerged victorious, receiving first (Martha Leone), second (Cian Forsyth), and third prizes (Eve Wall) respectively.

This competition not only showcased the Chinese proficiency and talents of the participating students but also deepened cultural exchanges and friendship between China and Ireland. The UCD Confucius Institute will continue to promote Chinese education and cultivate more students interested in Chinese culture.
