The 2nd Mandarin Chinese Leaving Certificate Examination Exchange Meeting Successfully held

On December 16th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., the second Mandarin Chinese Leaving Certificate examination Exchange Meeting was successfully held at the UCD Confucius Institute. The event brought together the Mandarin Chinese Leaving Certificate Examination Project team teachers, outstanding graduates representing the Leaving Certificate Chinese class, second and third-year students from the Leaving Certificate Chinese class, as well as students from various secondary schools interested in the Chinese subject of the Leaving Certificate Examination, totaling more than 80 attendees.

Since its establishment on October 16, 2021, the UCD Confucius Institute's Leaving Certificate Chinese class has continuously convened seminars every week, innovated teaching methods, and professionally developed mock exam papers. As of now, it has successfully attracted 145 second and third-year students for enrollment. Over the past two years, 60 individuals participated in the Mandarin Chinese Leaving Certificate examination, all achieving the highest H1 scores, resulting in a 100% success rate.

The exchange meeting invited four graduates from the Leaving Certificate Chinese class to share their experiences regarding the Chinese proficiency exam, the university application process, and their experiences in university studies and life. Following this, during the Q&A session, the four guests patiently answered questions raised by the audience regarding the exam and university applications. Subsequently, an information session was held to provide the participants with an introduction to undergraduate degree programmes with Chinese studies at UCD relevant scholarships.

The annual Mandarin Chinese Leaving Certificate examination Exchange Meeting at the UCD Confucius Institute has become an important platform for students to share and exchange their learning experience.  It not only showcases successful learning journeys and role models for students but also enhances their motivation and confidence in Chinese studies.
