2022 Confucius Cup is coming

The Confucius Cup 2022 will take place from 23rd–25th September, 2022 at the Confucius Institute in UCD Dublin. The Rapid tournament will be played on Friday night, while the Cup itself will be played on Saturday and Sunday. Attracting a strong field (previous winners include Kim Youngsam, Mero Csaba, and Fan Hui), the Confucius Cup is the premier tournament in the Irish calendar. The Confucius Cup is a Level C Bonus Point tournament in the European Grand Prix.

Xiangqi Championship

Authorized by the European Xiangqi Federation (EXF), the Irish Xiangqi Association and UCD Confucius Institute for Ireland will organize the “Confucius Cup” 2022 European Xiangqi Championship in Dublin on 23-25 September

UCD Confucius Institute for Ireland

Belfield, Dublin 4,Republic of Ireland

Regulation and Timing: 7 rounds (Group phase and Ranking phase), WXF Xiangqi Rules, 40 minutes + 10 seconds increment per party per game

As a tradition, the UCD Confucius Institute will host a Dinner Reception - Chinese buffet dinner + wine on Saturday night in Confucius Building around 19.30 (free of charge for all the players).

Prize Fund:

4,000EUR in total for the winners of individual (1-8), team (1-3, 2 players formed each team integrated in individual tournament), best Non-Chinese-Non-Vietnamese players (1-3), best woman player (1-3) and best U18 youth player.

Entrance fee:

Each player will be charged 20 € for covering partial organizational cost.
