Background
Prof. Zheng is currently the Vice Dean of the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at Renmin University of China, a Professor, and a Ph.D. supervisor. He also serves as the Director of the Institute of Rural Studies at the School of National Governance. His main research areas include international trade, agricultural product and futures markets, and industrial organization.
He received his B.A. in International Finance from Renmin University of China in 1997, his M.S. in Food and Resource Economics from the University of Delaware in 2001, and his Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University in 2004. From 2005 to 2012, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Trade, School of Business, Renmin University of China. Since 2012, he has been with the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at Renmin University of China, serving as Associate Professor, Professor, and Vice Dean. During this period, he also worked for one year as Assistant to the President at the Jilin Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
He has published more than 40 articles in leading academic journals in China and abroad, including The Century-long Evolution of the CPC’s Agricultural Economic Thought: Experience and Prospects. He has also authored and co-authored several monographs, translated works, and research reports.
