YANG Huilin, born in Beijing in 1954, is the Vice-President of Renmin University of China (RUC) and chair professor of religious studies and comparative literature, member of the academic committee of China National Fund for Social Sciences (NFSS), and President of China Comparative Literature Association (CCLA). His main academic publications include Cultural Spirit of Christianity (1995), Faith vs. Reason (1999), Christian Background and Its Cultural Extension (2001), Theological Hermeneutics (2002), The History of Literary Criticism (2007). The collection of his papers in English, Christianity in China: the Work of Yang Huilin, was published by M.E. Sharpe Ltd. (New York) in 2004, and his co-edited Sino-Christian Studies in China was published by Cambridge Scholars’ Press in 2006. He is also Robertson Fellow of the University of Glasgow (UK), Distinguished Fellow of EDS-Stewart Chair of the University of San Francisco (USA), External Examiner of Stockholm University (Sweden), and academic board member of several A&HCI journals.
